Ownership by Institutions
Peter Lynch felt that a company with good growth prospects wouldn't be owned primarily by institutions. Why? Stocks owned by institutions have already been discovered. The way to amass a ten bagger (huge return) is to find a stock that is undiscovered.
That doesn't mean that a stock can't have any institutional ownership. Lynch never gives a figure of the percentages to go by. If, however, you look at a lot of the well established companies they are about 80% owned by institutions. I would think a company that has less than 35% institutional ownership would be a good choice.
